What is Robot Follow?
“Robot Follow” is a term derived from web design. In the meta command “robot” is used to get the attention of anything viewing the site, and “follow” tells that robot to look though all the links on the page. So, having thought about it, this suits an online gallery very well. So, by all means, robot follow.
How does Robot Follow Work?
As a rule Robot Follow is an invitation only gallery. Having stated that, do not be discouraged from submitting work to us for review. If our panel approves your portfolio, then you too could be showing work in this artist-based community.
We provide RSS news feeds, social bookmarking options, and mailing lists as well as many other ways to keep the world informed on what’s going on in the world of Robot Follow. As long as the artist keeps us informed on the work, subscribers are aware of all the artists events, Robot Follow events, and all the updates in between.
As well as showing work online, Robot Follow will also organize live gallery events including artists and works from the site. Single and group shows will bring an audience to one set of work that otherwise may have not seen it.
All of this is the brainchild of The Idea Company, a Toronto-based media design firm. Our goal is to show art to audiences that may not seek it otherwise. Also, to display artwork in a simple, easy to navigate, beautiful, and uniform design. A great deal of work has gone into this site, all at no expense to the artists we represent.
Why become a member?
Our web site is unique in that, as of right now, there are no fees to join Robot Follow. What we are trying to do is list both well-known artists and not so well known artists, showing all of that work to a huge audience. We show the work at no cost to the artist and we retain no copyright to the work at all. The Robot is here simply to promote our users.
