The Good Women of Vietnam
It was late October as the women of the mountainside villages were harvesting the rice terraces that covered the valley walls. Those same women long ago learned the value of money while hawking hand-embroidered clothing to tourists, some after trekking several miles into town. They were forced to grow up quickly as many were married off soon after finishing school. As wives, their duties were to cook, clean, raise the children and tend to the animals.
The Good Women of Vietnam is a photographic celebration of the enormous strength that the women of Vietnam exhibit everyday in all its possible forms.
From The Roof of The World
In the fall of 2006, Connie embarked on a 48-hour train ride from the city of Chengdu, China to Lhasa, Tibet. The follow images showcase the vast Qinghai-Tibet Plateau landscape as well as a glimpse into the lives of the people living in and around the isolated capital city, often referred to as “the roof of the world”.
The Nursery
In this personal series, Connie takes an up-close look into the beautiful shapes and colours of everyday flowers. Shot entirely in studio, this series challenges the viewer to see the world from a different perspective through its complex simplicity.
